Pros Nice appearance, very comfortable, solid construction
Cons Uneven music reproduction

I have been searching for a decent pair of cheap headphones for a while now. What I am searching for is a pair of headphones with decent sound, comfort, durability, and appearance, for less than $30. So far, the best I have tried are the street-style cans that came with my $40 Panasonic MP3 CD... Read full review »

Sennheiser HD 201 Consumer Headphones - Good Insulation and Comfort

Pros Price, comfort level, sound insulation, sensitivity, looks
Cons Size, overall sound quality
Recommended it? Yes

Recently, Amazon.com had Sennheiser HD201 on sale for $10. Obviously, this is a ridiculously low price for decent enclosed headphones from a reputable brand. So I bought the HD201 to compare them to my Sennheiser HD202 as well as other headphones I had (e.g. Koss KSC75). As a point of comparison,... Read full review »

Pros ~lightweight and comfortable
~long cord
~very good sound for the price
Cons ~somewhat muted bass
~they aren't as loud as they could be.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased these headphones when I got to the point that I could not stand using the earbuds I had been using anymore. Unfortunately, my budget at the time was very low, so I needed to find something that sounded good but was still very affordable.

Sennheiser is a brand that I trust when... Read full review »

Value for the money

Pros Build Comfort Outstanding value for the money
Cons None for the price

I got these so that my daughter could practice on her keyboards or play PC games without interference from my hollering.
Let's start by saying this: if you crave for component interconnects that are insulated with unicorn hairs, this is definitely not the toy for you.
The build quality... Read full review »

For Studio Use...

Pros Effective and super cheap. Good ambient noise reduction.
Cons Lacks bass.
Recommended it? Yes

I've been building up my home studio bit by bit and wanted a cheap pair of headphones for studio use.

Studio requirements are rather different to Hi-Fi requirements. When listening to music for pleasure you want the best possible sound, all the good, none of the bad to put it simply. When... Read full review »

Decent headphones for the money, but there are better ones out there.

Pros Quite good sound, cheap price.
Cons Loose fit, doesn't block outside noise.
Recommended it? No

I have spent a good deal of time reading about and listening to headphones, from cheap earbuds to my perfect, awesome Grado SR60s. I was surprised to read reviews about this $20 pair as being superior to many more expensive headphones. The part that caught my eye was the word 'circumaural.'... Read full review »

Sennheiser HD201 Headphones have lively sound

bydusksunset Jan 6, 2009
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Good sound quality, comfortable to wear while using, two plugs fit any sound source
Cons Large, not too comfortable (and dumb looking) when placed around neck
Recommended it? Yes

I walk for exercise and when I do, I normally take a headphone equipped FM radio. These radios come with wimpy little headphones whose earpieces are foam covered. The sound is never very good. The foam eventually wears out and then you have hard plastic disks right on your ears. That doesn't fee... Read full review »

Looking for excellent headphones for under $20? These headphones are for you. Take advantage of my hours of research on the internet for some headphones that sound great, and cost close to nothing. These are closed headphones. that means that they block sound from coming in. Now, low frequency... Read full review »

Pros Great sound, durable, good price.
Cons Lacks the range that some higher end headphones can provide. Not always loud enough.

Great pair of headphones if your on a budget. Sennheiser are known for their quality built headphones and these are no exception.

I original bought them to plug into my amp and listen to my electric guitar "quietly". They performed pretty well at this and handled the low basses without... Read full review »

Not Terrible, But HD202 Is Much More Preferred

byaudio-freak Feb 23, 2007

Pros Good Looks, Comfortable, Decent Sound
Cons There Is Still Better For The Money
Recommended it? No

Sennheiser is a champ in audio products, especially headphones. Many seem to rave about the HD201. Unfortunately, I'd have to disagree with most, and say I was more impressed with the similar-priced HD202. Even if it costs three more bucks, the HD202 is worth it over the 201. They do seem to have... Read full review »
