The new Nikon D70s and Nikkor AF-S DX f/3.5-f4.5/18-70mm G IF-ED Zoom

byHoward_Creech Jul 3, 2005

Pros Very fast, solid build quality, excellent image quality, and very good battery life
Cons Images slightly soft at default settings and No USB 2.0
Recommended it? Yes

Canon's EOS D350/Digital Rebel XT was a revolutionary re-design of the original Rebel, but Nikon's new D70s is more an evolutionary update of the dLSR that POPULAR PHOTOGRAPHY magazine chose as it's CAMERA OF THE YEAR in 2004. At first glance the D70s appears identical to its predecessor, but... Read full review »

Pros Great quality.
Cons I'm broke.
Recommended it? Yes

After dropping my Nikon F65 35mm SLR down a scree slope, and then more recently submerging it in the Pacific Ocean, I thought it might not be a bad idea to get a new and improved camera – a digital SLR. At the same time, I was hesitant to go and spend over a thousand dollars on something that I... Read full review »

Pros Light, fast processor, excellent performance, full compatibility.
Cons Too many accessories for my budget
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the T1I as an upgrade from my previous Digital Rebel and EOS 10s. Compatibility with my existing 28-135is and 75-300is lenses was a given, and I added the brilliant Canon 10-22 ultrawide zoom to my kit. After 3 weeks of hiking around Australia and New Zealand, I couldn't be happier with... Read full review »

Pros Great for low light photography.
Cons 3.4 fps is a little slow but not a huge issue.
Recommended it? Yes

Being a Nikon user I was very impressed with this upper upper-entry-level DSLR. With its impressive 1080p HD video recording at 20fps, and its expandable ISO up to 12,800.It shoots up to speeds of 3.4 fps delivering beautiful image quality even at 3200 ISO enabling the user to shoot in low light...
