I recently acquired this camera through a silent auction and managed to pay only $175. I didn't really know anything about and just bought it because it had 6.2 megapixels and it was cheap. Now that I have had the camera for a couple of weeks, I have learned that this camera really packs quite a... Read full review »

When I found this camera as a special buy on the Wal-Mart web site at a price under $150 (which meant a 3... Read full review »

Introduction

I have a wonderful Canon Rebel SLR digital camera (not the most recent, with under 10 megapixels) and it is a workhorse. But what about when you want to slip a camera into your pocket, and you don't want to take the SLR along for whatever reason?

My husband is a photographer and we usually use our DSLR (A nikon) but when it comes to point and shoots and having a small camera with to capture the kids at their cute/ silly/ fun moments the canon powershot a490 is where it's at. This (for the price) is the best point and shoot out there. Read full review »
