The Game Boy platform (which includes the original unit, the Game Boy Pocket, and the Game Boy Color) came to market when most video game consoles had a life expectancy of just a few years. More than a decade later, the system is still going strong. How did the Game Boy successfully compete--and in some cases bury--an onslaught of faster, more powerful handheld and home console systems? Let us count the ways: affordability, a huge library of games that consistently made the most of the hardware's limitations, smart power management that extended battery life, and uncluttered controls. But perhaps it was the system's ultraportable design that allowed devotees to play video games around their schedule, making it the must-have system for kids and adults alike. Less

My son has upgraded from this but we decided to keep it around the house & it still works as good as day 1.  I think it would be more for younger kids (10 & under) due to the games that are available. Read full review »

I like the configuration of this Game Boy the best out of all of them.  Unfortunately, the non-backlit screen is a real downer for me.  We'd take these on long car trips and they'd be useless unless you had one of those light accessories and even then they were difficult to see. ... This review is a Hardware review of the  current Playstation Portable console (configuration: PSP3000)

The PSP 3000 differs from the PSP 2000/1000 in that it has a new (and improved !)  LCD screen as well as a built in microphone.  A Lesser  talked about detail is the fact the system has... Read full review »

Just like the Playstation 3, the PSP (Playstation Portable) has seen its share of hardware upgrades. The PSP 3000 is the third in the line of PSPs. Before I go further, if you already own a PSP 2000 or the original model, you may as well stick with it. The PSP 3000 offers minor technical... Read full review »
